Trace Adkins, Hank Williams Jr. and Toby Keith, the final three acts Friday on the primary Mane Stage, were friends with George Jones, who died Friday and was honored through the day.
But, by the evening, the Stagecoach party was on.
Adkins planned his Stagecoach appearance with the thoroughness of one of his projects on “Celebrity Apprentice,” rocking the audience with “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and showing his true country colors on the plaintive “This Ain’t No Love Song.”

The Little Willies opened to a half-empty but filling tent on Friday evening. Norah Jones’ voice is unmistakable as she thanks the crowd for coming to the band’s tent.
The band plays a number of catchy fun tunes all to something reminiscent of old New Orleans blues meets Nashville country. “Tennessee Stud” was a danceable treat where “Love Me” showcases Jones signature bluesy chops backed with a little twang.

Goldenvoice has quietly changed the Stagecoach lineup since first releasing it Oct. 9.
The promoter of the country music festival has been updating its website as changes were made.
Now, though, it has a new poster to go with the revised lineup.
Among the changes made so far, as rounded up by Brian Indrelunas:
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer-songwriter Jerry Lee Lewis, who was slated to perform Sunday, has been removed from the lineup.
Here’s who’s been added:
- The Little Willies (Friday)
- Charlie Daniels Band (Sunday)
- Chris Shiflett and the Dead Peasants (Sunday)
- Katey Sagal and the Forest Rangers (Sunday)
Robert Ellis was moved from Saturday to Friday.
Wristbands are still on sale for the April 26-28 festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio.
