Goldenvoice posted this photo Jan. 3 with a New Year's greeting. (Photo from Coachella's Facebook page)
Goldenvoice is such a tease.
The makers behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival posted a simple New Year’s greeting on their Facebook page on Thursday afternoon: “Happy New Years! We’re excited, hope you are too!”
But they just had to add a photo that got people talking.
The photo that accompanies the post is some sort of round object on what what appears to be the Empire Polo Club in Indio, home to the Coachella festival.

Can’t wait for today’s 10 a.m. announcement about Coachella? Me, neither.
Until then, relive Coachella 2012 by checking out our photo galleries. My favorite is Sunday, weekend one.
The announcement has me wondering how Goldenvoice will top this year (because you know they will):
P.S. Make sure you’ve downloaded our free MyCoachella.com app for iPhone and Android, too, so you can follow news on the Coachella Valley music scene — including this latest announcement.
Could musical masterminds Goldenvoice pull off a third weekend of Coachella, this one being an all-hologram line-up starring dead musical legends?
It’s doubtful, to say the least, but promoters behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival could shed light Monday on their plans for next year.
The promoters posted a photo to the festival’s Facebook, Twitter and website on Friday. It shows iconic Coachella scenes with “Monday 10 a.m. PT” splashed across the photo.
Only the words “Pssssst……. pass it on” are written underneath, the kind of cryptic message that Coachella fans now expect from the Los Angeles-based Goldenvoice.
It set off a firestorm of speculation about what promoters have up their sleeves for 2013.
Despite the sometimes absurd guesses, most Coachella fans and music media bloggers settled on an expectation that Goldenvoice will announce the dates for next year’s festival.
More than 3,500 fans “liked” the photo on Facebook and spent the weekend arguing whether it was too early for tickets to go on pre-sale or whether they were ready to shell out the cash for next year.
If the announcement is, in fact, the 14th annual festival dates, it would be the earliest notice in festival history.
The promoters announced this year’s dates on May 30, 2011, when it also debuted plans to expand into two weekends.
Heck, yes. With only three days until show time, the celeb cameo appearance rumors are ramping up.
It looks like Grammy Award-winning rappers Eminem and Warren G will make a not-so-surprise appearance at Coachella.
Warren G. posted this on his official website:
Dr. Dre will perform at the 2012 edition of the annual Indie festival “Coachella” in the desert. The good doctor will perform with all times friends Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Warren G & Eminem. Kendrick Lamar will also be here to perform their new single “The Recipe”. Y’all ready to feel the wrath of the Aftermath ? Let’s gooo!!
Madonna also surprised AVICII fans on Saturday when she joined the Swedish producer on stage in Miami.
That fueled hopes that Madonna — err, excuse me, “MDNA” — will hit the stage with AVICII when he performs at Coachella on Sunday, a production that he promises will be “way different from other festival shows.”
