This morning during @showertime, I heard a decidedly different version of one of my jams, “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Coachella artist Gotye, on local Top 40 station KRCK.
Unlike the album version that pops up on other stations and on Spotify, there were some new beats ever-present in the background and, if I recall correctly, an extra chorus jammed in between the first two verses in place of those instrumental bars.
I haven’t been able to track down that radio edit online, but I did discover that Gotye himself has posted some other (and, I think, better) remixes on Soundcloud:
As “Somebody That I Used to Know” gets more and more airtime, you might want to change it up with one of those remixes to avoid burnout. Or you could try to end it all by ODing on the catchy hit, as one of my friends did last week:
Going to listen to “Somebody I Used To Know” by @Goyte all day in the hopes that I’ll get sick of it and can finally stop listening to it.

Even if you’ve been overexposed to Gotye’s radio hit by the time Coachella rolls around, you should still catch his Sunday performance. If his latest album, “Making Mirrors,” is any indication, you’ll likely walk away with at least one more catchy track of Gotye’s stuck in your head. (My recommendations for anyone who wants to pregame: “I Feel Better” and “Giving Me a Chance”)
