Dave Alvin has never been one to write songs on the road. But that changed over the last couple years while touring with his all-female band, the Guilty Women.
“We tended to travel in two vehicles,” the Grammy-winning guitarist, singer and songwriter said in a recent interview. “So I’d drive a while and turn it over to somebody else. Then I’d come up with a line and tell it to (singer) Christy (McWilson) and she’d say, ‘That’s good’ or make a suggestion. I’ve never really worked that way before.”
