Five skinny-jeans clad men in their late 20s / early 30s just sped past me in the Palms to Pines Shopping Center.

Their mode of transporation? Little girls’ pink and purple bicycles complete with glitter, white tires, and handlebar fringe.

I immediately thought… Coachella, of course. My suspicions were confirmed by the wristbands each had on his right hand.

Wheel on down the road, guys… get your glittery fringe on.

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but the captain hats seem to be the new Indian chief head dress of this year’s Coachella – and both are a bit played out.

I don’t know if the captain hat-wearing festival-goers are paying homage to Lou Adler, but just by looking at the ones I’ve seen they don’t seem old enough to appreciate Adler’s producer credits, which include The Mamas & the Papas, Sam Cooke and Carole King.

But what do I know?

It’s Coachella – rock whatever you want.
