There may be 50-plus bands to see at Coachella, but most festival-goers also build time into their schedules to see the other sights — like the Do Lab, Ferris wheel and a host of small art installations.
Then there’s the swag.
Immediately inside the festival entrance is a huge tent marked “Merchandise.” That’s the place to be to score official festival t-shirts — there are many — and the latest and greatest T-shirts from bands performing the fest. Some are even customized for the event, like the Wu-Tang Clan t-shirt reading “Coachella ain’t nothing to F with.”
Me, I opted for a customized t-shirt that was screenprinted in front of my eyes by a really nice guy from Philadelphia who looked seriously tired.
Up next: Ride that ferris wheel.
Do Lab at Coachella (http://thedolab.com)
S.S. Coachella artist The Gaslamp Killer and Do Lab regular Lucent Dossier Experience will be among the performers at the Do Lab during Coachella.
The Do Lab, which recently released its lineup for both festival weekends, will celebrate nine years at Coachella 2013. It will hold pre-parties in Los Angeles before each festival weekend.
The L.A.-based company specializes in “interactive environments, event production and creative lighting design.” It produces events, works with music festivals and builds installations that tour around the world.
When it’s this hot, the only place to be is The Do LaB, where water mists and high powered water guns drench everyone in sight. Check out this shot of the crowd at the lab right now.
