No two Coachella weekends can truly be alike. Despite talk about the lack of surprises – organizers tipped their hand the first weekend as the second Saturday of the annual music and arts festival began, there was a marked difference in the air.
It was hotter, at times gruelingly so. And there was a celebratory air wafting across the festival grounds.
Most Coachella festival-goers were already well aware that Daft Punk would not be gracing the Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio.
However, Daft Punk did attend this year’s Coachella, but in civilian garb in the VIP section.
While the crowd eagerly awaited the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to perform last night, they were treated to a 105-second music video of the funky, summery-vibe song “Get Lucky,” which features hip-hop producer, singer Pharrell Williams and funk legend Nile Rogers.

There’s still no artist line-up, but it’s never happened this early.
That’s much to the chagrin of the dozens of people who post on the Coachella Facebook page each day, begging for at least an announcement of when the announcement will come.
Don’t count on that.
In the meantime, here’s our roundup of artists who have reportedly confirmed their appearances for 2013 and evidence that exists (or doesn’t) for the persistent rumors about other artists.

It’s Coachella 2013 artist rumor time.
There was the apparent slip from the Rollingstones team, followed Saturday by a second slip from Daft Punk, Phoenix, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Then there was that all-hologram version line-up we saw in the summer.
But when will the real 2013 artist line-up come out? Continue Reading
