A man was stabbed about 3 p.m. Sunday in the Sahara tent at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Medical staff at the festival rushed the man to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with non-life threatening injuries.
The man, whose name and age were not released, spoke with detectives but said he did not want any charges filed, Indio police spokesman Ben Guitron said.
The victim and “the other people involved” are from Woodland Hills, Calif., Guitron said.
Police did not release further details and considered it an informational report only, not a criminal report.
Flux Pavilion & Dr. P started in the Sahara tent at 3:05 p.m.
It was a rare act of violence at the Coachella festival, which has been relatively quiet from a public safety perspective.
More than 100 people have been arrested or cited for alcohol and drug-related issues. One person was assaulted late Saturday, but no charges will be filed in that incident, either.
