Wayne Coyne wants to press collaborators’ blood into a few copies of “The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends” album, the Flaming Lips frontman told MTV Hive.
The collaboration album features Coachella artists Bon Iver and Neon Indian as well as past performers Chris Martin of Coldplay, Erykah Badu and Jim James of My Morning Jacket.
Coyne intends to create and sell a few vinyls with blood samples from each collaborator in the middle “like a glass specimin thing.” He said he’s working to collect the blood now. Some artists are shying away from the needles while others have already filled vials that Coyne claims he’s storing in his fridge.
The record is set to be released on Record Store Day, April 21.
