The Farm Inc. – a brand new country band featuring Nick Hoffman, Damien Horne and Krista Marie – made its first appearance at Stagecoach Music Festival this afternoon – on the Mane Stage, no less.
I have to admit – I am really partial to this new group. I love the sound – a mix of country, some rock, a little hip hop – and the on-stage interaction between Hoffman, Horne and Marie.
Hoffman – who plays a mean fiddle – was chatty and pumped during the performance – and told a couple of stories:
On their flight to the west coast, Hoffman said a passenger asked, “You’re going to play a country show in California? Do they have country people in California? Hoffman responded, “You’re damn right they do and this proves it right here!” he said, gesturing to the crowd. “Hell Yeah!”
During their set, the band covered Alabama’s “Dixieland Delight,” played beautiful tune called “Be Grateful,” reminding us all to be thankful for what we have, their first single, “Home Sweet Home,” “Fresh off the Farm,” and “Farm Party,” among others. The band’s name gives the group a lot of latitude to have some fun making new song names.
Shortly after The Farm released ”Home Sweet Home,” it was picked up as the theme song on the new CMT series, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country!
Check out their first single, “Home Sweet Home,” released in the fall of 2011.
